Hardwood floor installation cost
Installing hardwood flooring is a surefire way to add a richness and appeal to any home. Hardwood flooring
offers an excellent aesthetic appeal that many people enjoy. Even though they are a natural product, you can still
get a very wide array of colors and finishes to suit and decorative style.
When making the decision about cost of installing hardwood floors, you have many things to take into consideration.
For example, you have to decide if you are going to try and install it yourself or is you are going to hire some
professionals to take care of it for you. Installing it yourself may save you some money, but it may also prove to
be a massive headache if you are not that skilled with work of this kind.
There are a few common kinds of hardwood flooring that you have to pick from to get installed. The one that most
people may be familiar with is solid hardwood flooring. This is solid wood of whatever kind, be it oak, maple, or
any other kind. The next two main kinds are a combination of different things. Engineered hardwood flooring is a
veneer of real wood on the top with a blend of different composites of woods, glues, and other materials under the
veneer. The last one is laminate. This is a synthetic wood covering again on top of a mix of different layers of
woods, particle board, or whatever. The installation of either kind is rather straight forward and basically the
same for each kind. Different manufacturers may have some slightly different recommendations from each other.
If you are going to try and install it yourself then there are some things that you should keep in mind. For
starters, the first few rows that you install should be hand nailed in. This may be necessary because the nail gun
may not be able to reach work the first few rows without banging the wall up. The same goes for the last few rows.
Actually, the last few rows could probably be glued together then laid down. The last piece will probably have to
be cut to fit as it will almost certainly not be a perfect fit without being cut.
By far the easiest way of wood floor installation in your home is to hire a professional to do it. They
will have all the proper tools and the years of experience to do the job fast and problem free.
